Sparse Super Symmetric Tensor Factorization

چکیده
In the paper we derive and discuss a wide class of algorithms for 3D Super-symmetric nonnegative Tensor Factorization (SNTF) or nonnegative symmetric PARAFAC, and as a special case: Symmetric Nonnegative Matrix Factorization (SNMF) that have many potential applications, including multi-way clustering, feature extraction, multisensory or multi-dimensional data analysis, and nonnegative neural sparse coding. The main advantage of the derived algorithms is relatively low complexity and, in the case of multiplicative algorithms possibility for straightforward extension of the algorithms to L-order tensors factorization due to some nice symmetric property. We also propose also to use a wide class of cost functions such as Squared Euclidean, Kullback Leibler I-divergence, Alpha divergence and Beta divergence. Preliminary experimental results confirm the validity and good performance of some of these algorithms, especially when the data have sparse representations.

Dictionary Learning and Sparse Coding for Third-order Super-symmetric Tensors
Super-symmetric tensors – a higher-order extension of scatter matrices – are becoming increasingly popular in machine learning and computer vision for modeling data statistics, co-occurrences, or even as visual descriptors [15]. However, the size of these tensors are exponential in the data dimensionality, which is a significant concern. In this paper, we study third-order super-symmetric tenso...
متن کاملA social recommender system based on matrix factorization considering dynamics of user preferences
With the expansion of social networks, the use of recommender systems in these networks has attracted considerable attention. Recommender systems have become an important tool for alleviating the information that overload problem of users by providing personalized recommendations to a user who might like based on past preferences or observed behavior about one or various items. In these systems...
متن کاملMulti-way Clustering Using Super-Symmetric Non-negative Tensor Factorization
We consider the problem of clustering data into k ≥ 2 clusters given complex relations — going beyond pairwise — between the data points. The complex n-wise relations are modeled by an n-way array where each entry corresponds to an affinity measure over an ntuple of data points. We show that a probabilistic assignment of data points to clusters is equivalent, under mild conditional independence...
متن کاملThe design and use of a sparse direct solver for skew symmetric matrices
We consider the direct solution of sparse skew symmetric matrices. We see that the pivoting strategies are similar, but simpler, to those used in the factorization of sparse symmetric indefinite matrices, and we briefly describe the algorithms used in a forthcoming direct code based on multifrontal techniques for the factorization of real skew symmetric matrices. We show how this factorization ...
متن کاملNonnegative Tensor Factorization, Completely Positive Tensors, and a Hierarchical Elimination Algorithm
Nonnegative tensor factorization has applications in statistics, computer vision, exploratory multiway data analysis and blind source separation. A symmetric nonnegative tensor, which has an exact symmetric nonnegative factorization, is called a completely positive tensor. This concept extends the concept of completely positive matrices. A classical result in the theory of completely positive m...
